MMA Junkie is reporting that a few more Sengoku 5 bouts have been announced.

The Japanese-based World Victory Road organization today announced three additional bouts for its “Sengoku 5″ card later this month.

The card will feature the first round of a middleweight grand prix, several UFC veterans, as well as a highly decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion making his MMA debut.

In the first round of the Sengoku middleweight grand prix, Paul Cahoon (10-11) will face Kazuhiro Nakamura (11-8), while Logan Clark (11-2) will take on Jorge Santiago (17-7).

Rounding out the field in the middleweight tournament are previously announced bouts between Yuki Kondo (49-22-6) and the previously mentioned Sasaki, as well as Siyar Bahadurzada (13-3-1) and Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos (16-11).

In a light-heavyweight bout, multiple-time world Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro (0-0) will make his highly anticipated MMA debut against professional wrestler and PRIDE veteran Takashi Sugiura (1-2).

Sengoku 5 takes place on Sept. 28 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

The latest card now includes:
Ryan Schultz vs. Jorge Masvidal
Yuki Sasaki vs. Yuki Kondo (Middleweight Tournament Fight)
Siyar Bahadurzada vs. Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos (Middleweight Tournament Fight)
Logan Clark vs. Jorge Santiago (Middleweight Tournament Fight)
Paul Cahoon vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura (Middleweight Tournament Fight)
Roger Gracie vs. TBA
Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro vs. Takashi Sugiura

For those of you who missed WVR’s Sengoku 4… you didn’t miss much. The event kinda sucked and the match-ups for Sengoku 5 aren’t looking that hot either. Masvidal is coming off a TKO loss to Rodrigo Damm at Segoku 3, Schultz is coming off a KO loss to Mizuto Hirota at Sengoku 4, Sasaki is coming off a loss, Kondo is 5-6-1 in his past 12, Bahadurzada is coming off a loss to Kazuo Misaki at the first Sengoku show, Cyborg is 2-3 in his past 5, Logan Clark is coming off a loss to Misaki at Sengoku 3, Santiago is actually on a 5 fight win streak, Paul Cahoon is 10-11 although he is 7-2 in his past 9 but is coming off a loss to Ian Freeman, Nakamura is on a 3 fight losing streak, Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro has never fought professionally before and Sugiura has fought just 3 times in the past 6 years, going 1-2.

As much as I enjoy watching fights, that card is sounding just as weak as any of the tiny regional shows sprouting up across North America. No wonder this company is in huge trouble.
