LIVIDITY Announce New FrontmanSeptember 18, 2005
U.S. cult porn grinders LIVIDITY have issued the following update:

"LIVIDITY has undergone yet another transformation. We have departed with long time original comrade, Matt Bishop. This may come to a shock to most of you who are familiar with all the releases we have put out due to his powerful frontman devotion and lyrical anger.

"It's never an easy event to part ways with your true brothers that have stuck by you for years and help solidify a semi success with your band, underground or mainstream, and achieve goals that at times seem far-fetched or out of reach.

"We have hired longtime friend, and devoted death metal sicko, Von Young from the band DEADEN. He has helped us create some more music and has lyrical ideas to complete the new material that will be one of the sickest and heaviest LIVIDITY releases to date! I understand that cliché is established with each band out there and each release ever submitted to help the sales of their music and make others feel there is nothing wrong with their progress, but in our camp we have always set by example, the actions taken in each event of change, to help strengthen the future and surpass the hoopla from previous albums or lineup. So we are very excited about what you will encounter when our disc hits your audio players!! We will try and get most of the studio done by end of the year. I'd say we are 93% ready with the material at this point.

"OK, you may wonder from last newsletter why Shaun LaCanne of PUTRID PILE isn't in the line up. Well... He actually wasn't interested to be the frontman with vocals and we pretty much have our hearts set at the moment to stay a four-piece and we appreciate all the support Shaun has given us through the years. So please welcome Von into the band when you get a chance."

LIVIDITY is:

Von Young – Guitar/Vocals
Dave Kibler – Guitar / Backing Vocals
Chris Campbell – Bass
Jordan Varela – Drums

TEUFEL'S VIEW:
Finally there's something about LIVIDITY that doesn't suck... but it still won't help them from sucking any less.

VEHEMENCE - Announce Different New SingerSeptember 18, 2005
Arizona-based death metallers VEHEMENCE have left the following message on their official website:

"VEHEMENCE will no longer be working with vocalist Sean Vandegrift (ex-FROM A SECOND STORY WINDOW). We wish him the best of luck. We now would like to take this time to announce Adam Cody as his replacement. Adam Cody, as some of you may know is also vocalist in GLASS CASKET (Abacus/Century Media). He filled in on vocals for us during our spring tour with THE RED DEATH and CREMATORIUM, and did an excellent job. He is already working on lyrics and demoing some of our new material. We are glad to be getting back into gear, and expect a very busy 2006.

On another note, we will be remixing/remastering our first full-length CD, The Thoughts From Which I Hide, during the month of September. The CD will contain new packaging, and will be made available only at our shows, and on our website. Also, congratulations to our bassist Mark Kozuback for scoring an endorsement deal with Madison Amps.

We'll see you all out there soon!"

(source: SMN News)
TEUFEL'S VIEW:
I still remember when I first met guitarist John Chavez on the undernet #deathmetal chatroom many moons ago. He was in some stupid band named BRIDES OF CHRIST or something equally moronic and everyone made fun of him to the point that he actually created an alter-ego account and came on as his "sister" so he could chat in the room without being ridiculed. That pretty much backfired and everyone kept telling his "sister" how much "her brother's" band sucked and how much of a douche John was. That didn't deter John, however, as he was able to score some hot cybersex action with various men in the chatroom posing as his imaginary sister. True story. John is gay.

ENTOMBED - Part Ways With GuitaristSeptember 18, 2005
Sweden's ENTOMBED have amicably parted ways with guitarist Ulf (Uffe/Ufo/Monster) Cederlund.

The bands official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"We want to inform everyone that Uffe Cederlund is no longer in the band and that the split is definite and amicable. We wish him all the best!

ENTOMBED will go on as a four piece and are currently finishing up the Inferno tour to start work on the new studio album which will be their best ever!

War y'all!"

TEUFEL'S VIEW:
If ENTOMBED were still good this would be newsworthy, but they're not.

KATAKLYSM - Finish Recording New AlbumSeptember 18, 2005
Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM have completed the recordings of the band's 8th studio album.

Guitarist/Producer J-F Dagenais comments: "After having spent 2 months behind the production helm for the new KATAKLYSM album, we have now achieved what we wanted from a to z. I worked extremely hard on this record to get it to sound like no other KATAKLYSM album and Imust say - when you have the time to work on something, it DOES benefit greatly! I'm really happy with the results we have. Everyone in the band gave 150% and I can't wait for everyone to hear this album. I have to agree with one of Maurizio's previous statements when he said this album at once on a technical side and yet with its blazing tempos, has been the most difficult album for me to record my guitar tracks. Felt like at some point my wrist and fingers were gona give in... but it was well worth the pain!"

The band's 8th studio album, In the Arms of Devastation, will be released on February 20th, 2006, followed by a massive touring campaign.

Tracklisting is as follows:

1. Temptation's Nest
2. Let Them Burn
3. Crippled & Broken
4. Open Scars
5. To Reign again
6. In Words of Desperation
7. Like Angels Weeping the Dark
8. It Turns To Rust
9. The Road to Devastation

(source: SMN News)
TEUFEL'S VIEW:
2 months spent producing an album that will undoubtedly be infinitely more boring than their last horrible effort. What they need to do is take a tape recorder and find Sylvain Houde and tazer him and record his shrieks and screams of anguish and replace Maurizio's lackluster vocals with those... that or just finally split up since no one in America, Europe or anywhere else give a shit about them anymore.

GENERAL SURGERY - Recording New Album SoonSeptember 18, 2005
Swedish grinders GENERAL SURGERY have posted the following message on their official website:

"The calm before the storm of gore is upon us, to use a trve metal phrase. Or something equally daft along those lines.
We've now booked studio time for December for our upcoming full-length on Listenable Records. If all goes as planned it should hit the stores three months later, around March/April. It should be a sanguine audio feast of the best of our old material (from our previous split releases, not Necrology... too bad) and a bevy of new material which should hopefully be equally awesome. If not, it's not our fault naturally.

It'll be recorded at Offbeat Studio, since we found that they are the most apt to give us the filthy sound we aspire for. Stay tuned for more updates as we can make them up.
In other news, the long-awaited split CD/LP with us and BUTCHER ABC is starting to take form. The CD will be released by Obliteration Records and the vinyl version by Living Dead Society Records. Expect it to be out some time later next year.

Beware of our foul stage personas on the European continent in October, more specifically the Bloodshed festival in Holland on the 22nd of October, along with BIRDFLESH, GRUESOME STUFF RELISH, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION and a myriad of other bands. Yay."

(source: SMN News)
TEUFEL'S VIEW:
A split with BUTCHER ABC and a tour with GRUESOME STUFF RELISH, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION and BIRDFLESH. Finally there's something positive to say about the latest incarnation of GENERAL SURGERY... though not much positive can be said about their music.

Maryland-based death metallers DYING FETUS have posted the following message on their official website:

We currently have six new songs completed, with the help of our computer drum software. Some song titles to expect:

DEVOURMENT To Record 'Butcher The Weak' In AugustJuly 24, 2005
Bassist Mike Majewski of the reformed Texas-based underground death metallers DEVOURMENT has posted the following message on the group's official message board:

"We've been keeping quiet lately about the goings on in the DEVOURMENT camp so I figured I'd give ya a lil update. Of course, nothing is 100 percent set in stone, but this is the game plan! Butcher the Weak is going to have eight songs — six that no one has ever heard, Autoerotic Asphyxiation and a revamped version of Babykiller. We decided to go with eight instead of nine strictly for time restraints. We want to tighten the songs we have rather than rush the last few and sacrifice quality to get an extra song on, ya know. Of course this may change if time allows, but the plan is eight right now.

"As far as a bass player, we recently tried out someone that didn't work out, strictly because of conflict of styles, so the plan, as of now, is that Mr. Rosas will lay down the bass tracks on the record. Reason he's doing it and not me is because he knows all the songs and it's easier to do it that way, rather than me learn them, which goes back to time restraints.

"Instead of re-recording Autoerotic with my vocals, we are just gonna say fuck that and go right to recording the whole album, we are just about ready and we don't wanna waste any more time, you fuckers have waited long enough. We ARE scheduled to enter the studio in August so a summertime release is still going to happen as we all hoped. We decided not to go with any labels as we don't want to have any limitations that a label may impose, such as touring, merch, whatever. We are also already planning some shows, which I will wait to announce until they are confirmed."

DEVOURMENT recently announced that Majewski will be taking over the vocal duties in the group after the departure of original frontman Wayne Knupp. Ruben Rosas, who had initially taken Knupp's place on the band's 1999 full-length release Molesting the Decapitated (United Guttural), has moved from vocals to full-time guitar duties, replacing original guitarist Brian "Brain" Wynn. In addition, former SUTURE and current SCARLINE/RHOME drummer Erik Park has replaced longtime DEVOURMENT skinsman Brad Fincher.

(source: Blabbermouth)
TEUFEL'S VIEW:
The only reason people kept talking about DEVOURMENT was because of Wayne and Ruben's vocals. Now Wayne is gone and Ruben is staying away from the mics. So... what's left about this band to give a shit about? I can't think of anything...

BLASTMASTERS To Enter Studio Next WeekJuly 24, 2005
BLASTMASTERS, the Florida-based death metal band led by former DIABOLIC/UNHOLY GHOST drummer Lee "Aantar" Coates, will enter D.O.W. Studios on July 25 with producer Juan "Punchy" Gonzales (MORBID ANGEL, UNHOLY GHOST) to begin recording their full-length debut, entitled Twisted Metal. The tentative track listing for the album is as follows:

01. Altricial Meta-Genesis
02. Catastrophic System Failure
03. Shellfire and Tombstones
04. Twisted Metal
05. Putred Future
06. We the Treacherous
07. Implemented Digital Control
08. The Beheadings
09. La Fin Du Monde
10. Shockwave Undertow

A late 2005/early 2006 release through an as-yet-undisclosed label is expected.

Formed on June 27, 2004, BLASTMASTERS' brand of "death grind" is said to feature "blistering guitar riffs, stellar leads, devastating machine gun drum work, and demonic vocals."

(source: Blabbermouth)
TEUFEL'S VIEW:
I have a feeling the music on this album may be good, but the band, album and song title names are so stupid I honestly don't think I want to hear it, for fear I may start drooling and nerf-na-nerfing after being sucked into their vortex of stupidity.
