Abysmal Dawn & Sothis Team Up For Mini Tour

Blabbermouth has revealed that boring death metallers Abysmal Dawn will be teaming up with terrible symphonic black metallers Sothis for a Western US tour with the fucking dumbest name… ever!

ABYSMAL DAWN will join forces with fellow Los Angeles, California-based band SOTHIS for a western U.S. tour in December, dubbed the Endless Wintour. The trek will kick off on December 5 in Bakersfield, California and will wrap on December 14 in Hollywood.

The dates are as follows:

Dec. 05 - Bakersfield, CA - Jerry’s Pizza
Dec. 06 - S. Lake Tahoe, NV - Whisky Dicks
Dec. 07 - Sacramento, CA - On The Y
Dec. 08 - Portland, OR - Satyricon
Dec. 10 - San Francisco, CA - Thee Parkside
Dec. 11 - San Marcos, CA - Jumping Turtle
Dec. 12 - Tempe, AZ – [to be announced]
Dec. 14 - Hollywood, CA - Knitting Factory
I hope Abysmal Dawn is more entertaining live than on CD, because their Relapse debut fucking sucked! Sothis is just your typical gay symphonic black metal band, complete with female keyboardist (of course) and lots and lots of make-up, black outfits and bulletbelts. Just because you play shitty music doesn’t mean you need to wear clown make-up in public, although if I was playing music that shitty I’d probably try to shield my identity too, although I’d probably wear a plastic bag on my head with no air holes instead.

I recently dl’d SOTHIS ‘De Oppresso Liber’ You know the string of crap movies…American Yakuza, American Samurai, American Pie, …whatever? Well, these guys ‘n gals are American DIMMU…, only really good. This is probably what ABIGAL WILLIAMS intended to become. Dunno if I’ll make any of the gigs, but the 2008 release is excellent ( imo, as always.) Good songs and riffs ( and never confusing the two), fine vox, a bit too much kb, though well enough concieved and performed: try it for yourself; it ain’t like it’ll cost you anything.
