Slayer To Play “Reign In Blood” In It’s Entirety For Select European Dates

Thrash metal legends Slayer will be performing Reign In Blood in it’s entirety for a handful of shows during the upcoming The Unholy Alliance: Chapter III European tour alongside Trivium, Amon Amarth and Mastodon. Here’s the story from Blabbermouth.

California thrash kings SLAYER will perform their classic 1986 album Reign In Blood in its entirety on October 30 at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, England during the band’s “The Unholy Alliance: Chapter III” European tour. The following night’s performance at the same venue will feature a different set and will be filmed for an upcoming DVD.
In a follow-up post, more tour dates and venue changes were announced.

According to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, SLAYER will perform its 1986 classic album Reign In Blood in its entirety at the band’s two shows in Sweden in late November:

Nov. 22 - Lisebergshallen, Gothenburg, Sweden
Nov. 23 - Hovet, Stockholm, Sweden

In other news, “due to unforeseen circumstances,” the promoters have had to change the following venues on the UK leg of “The Unholy Alliance: Chapter III”.

Oct. 27 - Manchester Arena changed to Manchester Apollo
Oct. 28 - Birmingham NEC changed to Wolverhampton Civic Hall
Nov. 03 - Glasgow SECC changed to Glasgow Academy

Standing tickets for the original venues will be valid for the new venues. If you have purchased seats you will be sent allocated tickets for the new venue as soon as possible.
I’m hoping the North American Unholy Alliance tour hits Vancouver again. Every time I see them, they’re always fucking amazing live. They filmed the Unholy Alliance DVD when they were here last year. I need to get that, at worst it’ll help me remember what the beer gardens made me forget.

Really? When Slayer came to Sydney with Mastodon on their last tour it was the worst live show I have ever been to. They played slow as shit and sloppy as shit, in addition to awful sound - it was fucking pathetic. I really don’t think they wanted to be there, and saw them as sad, passionless husks of themselves who can no longer play their music. I totally lost all faith in seeing bands that far past their expiration date. It was the single most disillusioned experience I’ve ever had with a live band.

I think Slayer is awesome live. I saw them on 10/31/03 in Grand Rapids at the Orbit Room. They played the entire Reign In Blood album at the end of the show. Damn that was great and unexpected.

I saw them last year and it didn’t really live up to how awesome I was told they are live. Granted, the crowd there was absolutely TERRIBLE and loaded with faggots, but still…

When I saw them at Hellfest 08 they were really fucking bad, I ended up going to sleep in my car after the second song.
