Ulcerate Sign With Willowtip Records

Willowtip have announced the signing of Ulcerate today, here’s the full press release;

Willowtip is very pleased to welcome New Zealand’s ULCERATE to their official roster.

Dummer Jamie Saint Merat comments on the signing: “Ulcerate is really looking forward to calling Willowtip home, a label we’ve respected for a long time, and whose reputation for quality bands and quality service is something we really identify with. It’s feels great to have their support and backing!”

ULCERATE is currently in pre-production for their forthcoming album, Everything Is Fire. A seething, more emotionally darker album than Of Fracture and Failure, Everything Is Fire is more extensively orchestrated and rhythmically complex, coupling suffocating density with moments of serene bleakness. Bassist Paul Kelland will handle vocal duties this time around, and the album will be mastered Peter In de Betou (Nasum, Meshuggah, Amon Amarth) in Sweden.

Everything Is Fire will be released in early 2009.
Of Fracture And Failure was one of the biggest surprises of 2007. It’s an awesome album that is highly underappreciated. Hopefully this new signing will see Ulcerate get more promotion and hopefully more people will check them out. Good signing!

    Willowtip cannot go wrong! I love Of Fracture and Failure. Also can’t wait for the new Gorod album.

    Willowtip is easily one of the best metal labels around. At least I like the majority of their releases. Relapse, Nuclear Blast & Century Media I only like maybe 1 in 10 discs, if even that.
