This Abruptum release is a 3 song EP, containing one old track and two new tracks. The opening track, "De Profundis Mors Vas Consumet", is taken from the Nordic Metal compilation of a few years back, and has always been one of the most insane and Satanic songs I’ve heard. It’s just sickening and has some of the best wailing vocals ever. It is a true classic and if you do not own the Nordic Metal compilation, you must buy this EP right now if you care for dark and occult black metal. The remaining two tracks are completely non-metal and are in the power electronics vein. Although I am an Abruptum fan, I’ve always wished that they’ve had more material in the vein of "De Profundis Mors Vas Consumet". That song is a triumph of black metal, but the remaining two tracks just don’t live up to it in terms of atmosphere and come off more as a filler. I do not think that Abruptum should continue in their power electronics vein, as their original sound is something very special and unique in black metal.

Although this contains one of the greatest black metal songs of all time, I cannot recommend this EP if you already own the Nordic Metal compilation. The power electronics tracks add nothing to Abruptum’s greatness. If you want to hear one of the most evil black metal tracks of all time, however, pick this EP up, but I cannot give this release as a whole a good review due to the bulk of the content.
