Aeternus attacks once again. This time, the band has chosen to offer us some relics of the past as a pre-release to their next album entitled Ascention Of Terror. The first track here is a preview to their upcoming release and it promises another violent epic from these Norwegian black metal kings. Tracks 2 and 3 were both recorded during the same session as their Shadows Of Old CD. Tracks 4 through 7 are all live tracks recorded in February 2000, at the Hulen Rock Club in Bergen. Tracks 8 and 9 appeared on a picture 7″ released in Autumn of 1998, and track 10 appeared as a bonus song on their re-release of Dark Sorcery in the Winter of 1998. This CD is a great buy for any Aeternus fan. The live tracks are especially impressive and display Aeternus‘ prowess in its purest form. Aside from the excellent musicianship, Ares’ vocals still put most brutal death metal vocalists to shame. The guy can belch out a growl that will make your Mr. Pinky tinkle. I like to wet my pants when I listen to Aeternus, and you should too.
