Do you ever wonder what motivates Agathocles to go on? At this point I don’t understand. With each new release it’s either charming or frustrating and I think I go back and forth on the band about as often as I listen to them.

In addition to owning a small share of their recorded output, I now have the live experience to draw upon to help me to better understand how a band can re-write the same song hundreds of times over since 1985.

Mincer is what happens when the band leaves their shithole and stinks up a recording studio with their flatulent noise. I can imagine an engineer handing his head in his hands for most of the tracking quietly sobbing and wondering what the fuck is going on. And of course he doesn’t get it right, and everything is muted and compressed and in his anguish of having to deal with the Belgian kings of mincecore, ends up relapsing on his 12 year old decision to quit drinking.

Unfortunately, the problem is not just the production. Agathocles hasn’t released a decent record for sometime and in their efforts to be the AC/DC of mincecore, seem to be forgetting how to check the quality and brutality of their compositions. These tracks seriously leave a lot to be desired and "Forced to Masturbate" could be the most fucking terrible tune I’ve ever heard in my life.

I will be face-palmed on this one by hardcore fans of the band. These guys have some cult fans keeping the torch alive as a 2007 appearance at Bloodshed Fest proved. In the live setting they provide the perfect environment for political crusty grindcore loving freaks to mosh and blow soap bubbles in the pit. It’s brutal, friendly and totally awesome. This album is pretty much the exact opposite of that experience. It sounds like shit, the songwriting sucks and it just doesn’t sound anything like this band sound like. Jan AG, lay off the pot. You won, okay? No one will ever put out more records than you. Please, take some time out to think about quality instead of quantity. And then four track it. And then vomit on the tape. Then release it.
