What do you get when you mix members of Alienation Mental and Cerebral Turbulency, with an obsession with porn, lego, video games and a love of techno? I’m not too sure either, but it sounds like one hell of a party to me. Ahumado Granujo, on the other hand, probably aren’t as cool, but what they are is a side project of a couple of members from Czech grinders Alienation Mental and Cerebral Turbulency. The music they’ve created on Splatter Tekk is as one would expect from Czech grind; unique, interesting, and really fucked up. The music is straight-ahead simplistic high-tempo grind with ridiculously distorted vocals and techno/gabber samples strewn throughout. I know a lot of you are saying "Techno/Gabber????" while looking dumbfounded, disgusted and quite ugly. While I can’t do anything to change your appearance, except maybe repeatedly bash you in the face with a lead pipe while singing "I’m So Pretty!" what I can do is reassure you that, as strange as it sounds, the intros and techno/gabber elements fit the music perfectly and somehow even enhance the band’s overall sound. Most of the samples are from video games and movies, nothing overly funny like most grind bands use, but more something that strangely fits the music and helps blend one song into the next. When I first heard about the band’s style, I didn’t think I’d like it much either, but after listening to them a few times I’ve gone out of my way to buy up everything of theirs I could get my grubby little hands on. The production is surprisingly good for a Czech grind release and helps make it even easier to get into the music. If you’re into intense European goregrind and can accept a touch of gabber to your grind, you’ll be masturbating and throwing your feces while waving a glow stick to Splatter Tekk in no time.
