I had never even heard of these guys until a couple of their mp3s fell into my hands. Belphegor has apparently been around for some time now (since 1991). Their CD entitled Necrodaemon Terrorsathan is a highly original recording of blasting blackened death! Ripping forth with unpredictability and a ferocious bloodthirst, Belphegor has to be one of the best bands out of Austria (along with Summoning and Abigor). Their music tends to march along with an old school feel, all the while pounding your face in with an evil majesty that is rarely well-done. These guys definitely have the Vatican in their sights. The bassist/vocalist belches unholy growls accompanied by an occasional scream, whilst the drummer and guitarist pelt you with an array of evil riffs and blast beats throughout. At times, the band will slow into a sick fucking break like in the title track (those bells will punch a hole in your chest). If you like Incantation and old Mayhem (De Mysteriis…), you will surely love Belphegor’s music. Evil will prevail.

"Suck, fuck, cook and clean. Baby, that´s your daily routine." El Duce (R.I.P.)
