Angry, satanic and seriously hate-filled death metal, sounds a lot like Krisiun, Sinister and early Deicide, but more tempo changes and plenty of aggressive, powerful dual vocals. This is how I remember liking my death metal…full of catchy, thrashy riffs to bang your head and knock a statue of jesus down too. Centurian retains enough originality in their riffing and sound ("Damned And Dead", "Hail Caligula" and "In The Name Of Chaos") to keep you spinning this CD again and again when in the mood for blasphemous death metal. This is perfect for death metal purists who hate both christians and black metal. Like the comparisons, Centurian doesn’t let down in the slightest, every song on here packs a punch that you should take to a local church and feed to paranoid evangelical assholes. With luck, the "local" aspect of churches (for anything other than stunning architectural purposes, and most new ones aren’t even worth staring at. Maybe they don’t care about god enough..?) will become a faint memory with songs like "Misanthropic Luciferian Onslaught" helping you deal with them. This is one concept I always find pleasing to hear or say year after year about more new, effective death metal songs. Then again, with religion as strong as it is today, if all else fails, suicide is right around the corner and "Blood For Satan" can guide you through that! Yes, the lyrics are juvenile, but these guys are sincere and musically concrete, that’s what counts. The intro to "Hail Caligula" is fucking hilarious, it’s really hard not to listen to on repeat a few times before letting the song play. I’m sure these guys destroy live as well, as I usually tend to enjoy death metal much more live than on CD, especially with bands I worship. By the way, this CD has also been dedicated to those who stayed brutal (and it’s a lot better than Vile, too), so whoever you are out there, don’t be without this!! Come claim your fame!!! The power of Centurian compels you!!
