Wearing women’s make-up and singing about Satan and condemning Christianity is all of the rage in the black metal scene at the moment, Dark Funeral just happens to be one of the more recent bands to get in on the act. None of the tracks on this album are all that original, in fact a good comparison can be made to label-mates Enthroned as far as their sound is concerned. From beginning to end the album is like one continuous, monotonous song about Satan and all of that silliness. The only tracks which break from the mold of continuous blast beats, three-note guitaring and varying death-black vocals are "Slava Satan", "Vobiscum Satanas" and "Ineffable King Of Darkness", unfortunately the breaks between monotony are brief as all tracks, at some point, break into the exact same pattern and rhythm. They may be an entertaining live act with their fire breathing and pig head devouring, but musically they’re nothing spectacular.
