After 2 years of inactivity the gods of goregrind return with a release just as crushing as the earlier material. Dead Infection defines the eastern European style of goregrind and this release will cement that reputation. Simple and catchy but never cheesy riffs follow blast after blast with punishing ferocity. There is nothing complex about this music but it’s delivered with such conviction that the result is an amazing listen. There seems to be an endless supply of those "why didn’t I think of that" riffs that keep things interesting and infectious despite the cacophony. The sound quality is better than ever for Dead Infection and Cyjan’s drums are thick and natural - just fucking perfect and free of that lame triggered clicking sound that lesser drummers can’t seem to avoid. Drummer/song co-writer Cyjan may not be the fastest drummer but in gore but he’s the best to these ears. Tocha’s guitars are fucking huge and crusty sounding as always and the arrangements show a mature band with an endless supply of fresh ideas. The strength of Dead Infection has always been their overall vibe. Very often - great bands make the most out of simple writing and with Brain Corrosion achieves - Dead Infection has achieved greatness. Unfettered by solos and fills the riffs are delivered in the form of relentlessly thick chording. In other words - Dead Infection sounds like they always did if not for the vocals. Fans looking for another Chapter Of Accidents may have an initial aversion to the new vocal sound. Jaro’s vocals are unprocessed this time around and remind me something of Impetigo or recent Squash Bowels. There are quite a few absurdist belches and squeals that get goofier as the record progresses I think the vocals rule. All the bands that rely too much on triggers and pitch-shifters to sound gore seem to leave all the heaviness behind but Dead Infection knows better. The Zubr must have been flowing in Bialystok as by the time we get to track 19 the vocals are totally over the top weirdness that sounds like the Fist Of The North Star in a drunken fistfight with Gronibard. In short: this record fucking crushes and Dead Infection makes about 99% of other goregrind worthless. I’ll admit I was scared this release could only disappoint after such classics as Chapter Of Accidents and Surgical Disembowelment but it stands along side those and thus ranks, as the best goregrind has to offer. Tracks like "Satan’s Hole" (riffs!!!!!!!) and "Deaf Death" will be covered for years to come. Dead Infection is still the best goregrinding band going and this release is essential unless you think guys name Anders playing keyboards and wearing capes is metal. The only disappointment is that there are no lyrics included. We all know there are no words being uttered but the stories that graced are earlier releases are sadly missed. Buy this and forget about the followers.
