Woah, where did this come from? This relatively new band blasts, screams and stomps their way through 17 songs in about ten minutes on this, their debut effort. This is excellent. Think Retaliation or Gadget and the current crop of super aggressive bands playing a very Nasum influenced style of grindcore. Lots and lots of intense songs with absolutely no growling and very few bells and whistles to confuse hyperactive minds like mine. This is very abrupt and raw, refusing to allow me a breath of air between these short blasts of fury and contempt.
I approve of the ten minute CD EP aspect of this release. Classic releases like the No Comment Downsided 7" or the Assück Blindspot 7" are proof that being two fine examples of less being more. Such releases beat me up for a 7-9 minutes generally and leave me wheezing from a punctured lung and unable to walk to the Emergency Ward without a profound limp. I find it very difficult to want to bother listening to records like Nasum’s Human 2.0 because of their length and the feeling of near indifference I feel halfway through. Sure the songs may be good, but I don’t need 40 of them in a row for the most part.
Pick this up if you dig over the top Swedish grindcore. There is a dude from Squash Bowels on this for fuck sakes. No lyrics, but I’m most likely looking at various socio-political subjects on all these tracks, with song titles including "Everything is Perfect" and "Concrete Childhood". Also included is a cover of Regurgitate’s "Bleeding Peptic Ulcer". An excellent release, no complaints here.
