Groove-ladden death-grind, not exactly my cup of tea, but Fleshgrind pulls off an interesting album. For those not in the know, Fleshgrind has been around for a number of years putting out quality demos, including the classic, Holy Pedophile. Unlike most bands in this particular genre, Fleshgrind does not bore the listener with countless intro’s and other boring noises. They have a very tight sound and there is much technicality throughout. Although no leads or flashy bullshit, this album displays great musicianship. The opening song is rather powerful and is likely the best song on the disk. The aggression of the first song is held throughout the entire album, but unfortunately it becomes repetitive in parts. The first five songs on this full-length simply fucking rip and nothing else, but from track five until the end, you almost seem to be bored and disinterested. I’m not sure where this band is going to go (although I do know they have nine new songs written) because of the breakup of the label they were on (Pulverizer) due to an incredulous owner. This is a damn good disk and I can recommend it to any one who loves the death-grind movement these days, although it provides no glaring originality, it is still a damn fine listen.
