The Netherlands: home of the city where nearly everything is legal (’cept for maybe weasel fucking) and Fondlecorpse. Fondlecorpse is a lot like a college dropout horror fan with an enormously disturbing gun collection who sits on his ass all day watching awesome 80’s schlock horror and cult films. Yeah, he’s a lazy couch potato eating way too much fried chicken, but the fucker has some cool ass videos, is more intimidating than your D&D pals, and will let your under-age ass hog beer out of his cooler. Only Fondlecorpse is from the Netherlands, so you can probably get some good illegal material from them too.

Fondlecorpse plays your typical brand of horror-obsessed, sloppy, drum-machine driven goregrind. It’s not particularly technical nor does it require the most precise instrumentation, but it gets the job done. And Fondlecorpse knows how to write some fun material. The drum programming isn’t "set sails to straight blast" and has some good beats, and the guitar work is melodic at the right intervals, and blazing grind everywhere else. Silvester the Goregnome (who is neither particularly gory nor diminutive) delivers just the right style of vocals. The stuff on this discography release of Fondlecorpse’s past 7" releases is just what the doctor ordered for those nights where you just want to pop in a worn out VHS copy of Anthropophagous into the VHS, eat some fired chicken, and grind the fuck away.

Fondlecorpse is sloppy, but damn good fun. Fuck, if their drum machine is really Krite the Critter, how can you refuse to listen to them? I sure as hell can’t. To make things even better, Fondlecorpse’s full length is due out on Razorback Records- home of the best horror metal around. Jesus, I feel like the horror-obsessed metalhead version of Quagmire in an under-aged, all female Fangoria convention when I listen to Fondlecorpse. Oh yeah.
