This release is a compilation of the first two Gotmoor demos, namely Dicht Bi Den Heerd and Uit Den Donkeren Grond Gerezen. Judging from the ridiculously childish looking attempt at a little kid trying to write in German, I deduce that they are a Dutch band. Both demos are of pretty much equal quality and are excellent and somewhat atmospheric black metal. The music is primarily fast blast-beat Scandinavian-ish stuff, with keyboard accents. It usually reminds me of a more vicious Emperor without the faggot classical tangents that Ihsahn goes on. The bass playing also stands out, and works extremely well to give the music a dank and depressing feel. Gotmoor’s main strengths are creating somewhat ethereal feelings in their music with the keyboards while the drums and guitar grind and blast-beat underneath. Yes, this is something that’s been done a few times before, but I like the way Gotmoor does it. They inject honesty and a love for actual black metal into their music. I wouldn’t label this as strict Norsecore worship although there are elements of it present. Bottom line - in a world where all of the good ol’ Norwegian and Swedish black metal bands of old are devolving into trip-hop avant garde homosexual cabarets of techno-influenced gayness, it’s nice to see Gotmoor and their peers doing something that is good and dependable. Not groundbreaking, but fucking good.

Oh yeah, the song titles Intro(ii) and Outro(ii) are just GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY! A stupid attempt at being "cute" or something. Docking one tombstone for that idiocy.
