Here we have the second offering from Dutch gorefreak Morris of Cliteater’s one man goregrind project Hymen Holocaust entitled Blood Feast. For those of you unfamiliar with Hymen Holocaust’s Necromance debut, and are too lazy to go back and read the review of the previous effort, Hymen Holocaust play a simple form of down-tuned goregrinding insanity. The material offered on the debut offering can best be described as a one-man band version of Last Days of Humanity’s Hymns of Indigestible Suppuration.

The follow-up offering Blood Feast sees Morris play the same style of down tuned, dirty and simplistic goregrind and adds more catchiness to the riffing and overall style. Blood Feast is a perfect blend of disgusting early Last Days of Humanity-style production and vocal sound, with the sick catchy grooves of The Day Everything Became Nothing and the drum kit mashing Morris is renown for with his work in Cliteater.

Of all of the one man band goregrind outfits around today Hymen Holocaust are at the top of the food chain. The drumming is solid without being overpowering, the riffs are catchy and worth listening to again and again and the vocals are inhumanly sick (thanks to the perfect use of the pitch shifter). This is the album Last Days Of Humanity should have recorded after Hymns of Indigestible Suppuration rather than the retarded blast-crazy machine they did. By no means is this the most original album, but it’s definitely one of the best for this style of goregrind. A must own for all sick demented zombie loving, corpse fucking, brain eating, homicidal maniac goregrind freaks! I fucking love this shit!
