Hymen Holocaust “Necromance”
Artist:
Hymen Holocaust
Album:
Necromance
Label:
No Escape Records
Year:
2006
Format:
CD
Tracks:
8
Genre:
Goregrind
The music is exactly what you’d expect from a Dutch act; slow simple catchy gore with pitch shifted vocals. Although the music is nothing new, the delivery is very solid and is reminiscent of early Last Days Of Humanity, specifically the classic Hymns Of Indigestible Suppuration; especially vocally as I often find myself listening to a few tracks wanting to gargle "The 48th cut… THE 48TH CUUTTTT!"

You aren’t going to find any blazing solos or melodies on Necromance just a lot of deliciously sloppy catchy riffing, drum kit destroying beats, inhumanly shifted vocals and, surprisingly enough, no excessive audio sample usage. In other words, it’s just stupid fun and genuinely solid simplistic goregrind.

Necromance is a goregrind album. If you aren’t a goregrind fan you’ll hate this. Fans of the gore genre will be grinding their penis in a pencil sharpener while shrieking with insane glee while thrashing about and stabbing themselves in the kidneys with a steak knife while listening to this effort. It’s nothing new. It’s nothing original. It’s just plain good.
