Hey, this could be the start of something beautiful. Slow and creeping this intro is, making me wonder what this Osaka band has in store for me.
Well that transition from the intro to "Deep Down Human Being" sucked, but this second track isn’t too shabby at all. Everything is up front and right in my kisser, where it should be. Guitars are coated in tar, just like they should be. This singer is using his choda to help make his grease-soaked guttural as fuck coals even more sick and twisted. The song writing, inspired by Suffocation, Amputated Genitals or Dying Fetus, I guess. Yup, it’s American death metal, and yes it is done totally by the book, but considering the impact it leaves, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t hit the spot.
I really can’t complain about the low tones throughout this. Fans of “technicality” and The Bleeding-era Cannibal Corpse will cry like the babies they are about the near lack of treble on this. But for my money, these are some twisting and churning riffs recorded in a punishing manner and ultimately made exciting by a bunch of guys that are not just relying on another lame slam riff to ride on.
There is nothing new under the Rising Sun, but these blokes succeed in paying from homage to the kings of their genre. I will look forward to hearing more from these guys.
One note: Those samples from Full Metal Jacket have been used about fifty fucking times. Please stop sampling from flicks that can be found in any shitty old Blockbuster, okay?
