Here’s a nice little treat to hear: a demo that doesn’t entirely suck ass. Jig-Ai just recently got signed to Bizarre Leprous productions, but their demo is available to the public for consumption. And hey, it’s catchy, has some great writing, and worth the listen despite the horrid production that usually comes with demos. But I really should have saw it coming, as Jig-Ai is a new project made up of Negligent Collateral Collapse and Ahumado Granujo members. Czech goregrind, ahoy!

Jig-Ai’s sound is a bit more into Negligent Collateral Collapse’s territory, offering up some groovy pitchshifted goregrind at decently fast speeds with great hooks. The riffs seem to shift themselves toward the writing found on Paranormal Nanodivision, which is a relief as I was somewhat disappointed by the writing found on Sick Atoms. The music doesn’t bring in any of the bizarre influences that Ahumado Granujo is known for with their gabber-grind mix, and it doesn’t resort to the filler grind that was released on Chemical Holocaust. By all accounts, this is some Grade-A goregrind.

If you get a chance, download Jig-Ai’s demo as there is some nice catchy goregrind to be had. If anything, this makes me look forward to their debut on Bizarre Leprous; it should be good.
