With the departure of Negligent Collateral Collapse and Ahumado Granujo and the sudden suckification of Alienation Mental a big hole has been left in the underground Czech grind scene. Hoping to fill that void are Jig-Ai, which consists of members of both Negligent Collateral Collapse and Ahumado Granujo.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this collaboration, but considering the poor quality of the final releases of the aforementioned acts, I didn’t have high hopes for this effort. Thankfully, I was wrong in misjudging them… sort of. The music they create can be best described as a faster more grinding version of Cock And Ball Torture, with similar production values, pitch shifting, guitar tones and drumming.

Some tracks on this effort are great like "Sounds Of Body Sinuses", "Geishas Sucks European Cocks", "HN Islam" and their cover of Brujeria’s "La Ley De Plomo", however, this album suffers from the same issues that classic Cock And Ball Torture full lengths have, for every kick ass song, there’s another one or two that are just dull like the opening track "Japanese Gut Cake", "Adventure On The Boat" and "Phimosiectomy Made By Scrub Slasher". There’s definitely enough killer material on here to make it worth buying, but compared to early Negligent Collateral Collapse or Ahumado Granujo, or even Destructive Explosion Of Anal Garland (another goregrind project consisting of Jig-Ai members) it falls short, but does exceed expectations. The one thing that Jig-Ai does succeed in doing is exceeding the quality of the final efforts of Negligent Collateral Collapse and Ahumado Granujo and gives hope that the future of Czech goregrind may not be in peril after all.
