Despite signing with Century Media, Krisiun has NOT turned into utter crap. No… in fact, give the CD a few spins and if by the 3rd or 4th listen the opening riffs and words of "Ravager" don’t make you want smack someone in the head, then this isn’t for you. There are several ways to enjoy this album. You can put it in your CD player and push play if you’re like most people, or if you’re like me you can fall asleep in your goddamn velvet pants and have a dream where you’re about to take Moyses Kolesne to the office supply store to buy a yellow padfolio, but just before leaving you wake up with title track "Conquerors Of Armageddon" in your head. The whole album has more straight out riff-by-riff structure instead of the constant double-picked rhythms of prior material, and this time only a few solos were worked in throughout the entire 38 minutes, still malicious though a bit more controlled. There’s no change in drumming… it’s mostly the chaotic, monotonous blasting that will either bore or help adrenalize you. "Abyssmal Gates" and "Conquerors Of Armageddon" have a total Slayer feel to them… let Moyses’ riffing fill you with rage. The catchiness of "Hatred Inherit" and closing track "Endless Madness Descends" will also help prepare you for beating christians. I don’t think this album holds up as solid as the first two, but these five songs mentioned definitely make the album worth having. There had to be genuine musical interest involved in signing Krisiun to Century Media (and considering they even signed Sigh not too long ago, perhaps they are really interested in music again), because although Krisiun has a strong following in the hateful death metal market, that’s still quite a small niche today, isn’t it? (i.e. "hateful death metal" is, or rather, should be redundant, but today it needs to be specified because there are a lot of POSERS out there). What’s nice about this is CM’s "extreme" bands have fully retained their original strength. Krisiun fans will be pleased with this result, and since Krisiun is a love/hate ordeal, newly exposed people will become dedicated followers just the same.
