It only took him a few years, but eventually Aborted vocalist Sven De Caluwé took my advice to step away from the microphone and beat on something other than his eenie weenie, and formed a new band with Dark Ages guitarist Glen Somethingorother and a few other people you’ve heard even less about, named Leng Tch’e. What he helped create is one of the most entertaining and genuinely fun albums I’ve heard in a long long time. Musically the band play in the same vein as Sanitys Dawn, Groinchurn and Hemdale; heavy, simplistic, powerful grind with hilarious intros. The drumming is basic, but solid and fits the music perfectly, the riffs and song writing are excellent, with each track making you want to get up and punch someone with fists working in perfect harmony. What makes Leng Tch’e really stand out is the vocals of Isaac, whose blends of shrieks, shouts, screams, grunts, growls and gurgles reminds me why I far prefer Sven as a drummer than a front man. The intros are the best I’ve heard on any album, with hilarious bits taken from Kids In The Hall, George Carlin, and others, proving Belgians have a great sense of humor and great taste in comedy to go along with their delicious waffles and chocolate. Death By A Thousand Cuts even got the band into serious legal issues due to them poking fun at some loser scenester in Belgium for 49 seconds, making the song title "Fuck Eddy de Dapper" even more appropriate. This is, by far, one of the best releases of 2002 and one of my favorite gore-ish grind releases in my ever-growing collection. Along with his amazing digital art skills, Sven once again proves that his greatest creations are done while sitting down and shutting the fuck up! Highly recommended!!!!
