I fucking hate Marduk right now. Why? Not because of their music, honestly I can’t think of a band that puts out consistently good releases as Marduk does. I still really hate Marduk right now. ot because they started some new trend, they are still as vicious as ever. I still really fucking hate Marduk right now, and not because this record sounds like shit. It’s extremely well produced, but not over produced so it sounds like some other lame Swedish band who thinks they are death metal, but are really just a bunch of pussies. This is a good quality black metal album with a killer cover of Celtic Frost’s "Into Crypts Of Rays". Then you must be asking yourself, "Hey douchebag why the fuck do you hate Marduk now if you like this album, you motherless fuck?" Because of one number, 3. Three is the amount of tracks on this ep. Now another number, 14. People are currently charging upwards of $14 for this ep, not that it’s not worth it or anything, but why I ask? I understand people involved in the metal scene are fucking ridiculous when it comes to cd collecting and if a band rushes to put out something, some dumb metal head will eat shit and call it candy. This is shit making people pay $14 dollars for an mCD, even if it is from Sweden. Onto the actual record review… Marduk keeps up when they started on Panzer Division Marduk with a bloody assault of speed laden black metal. No cutting corners, no fucking around. This is what black metal should sound like. No faggoty keyboards, no clueless bitch crooning and no fucking gay gimmicks. "Obedience", the title track, kicks you right in the balls by starting out fast, and staying fast. "Funeral Bitch", the second of this trio of songs, slows it down a tad but doesn’t sound boring. The overall feel of it is hateful and anger, which is good for a metal record. Next, and finally we hit the Celtic Frost cover, "Into Crypts Of Rays". Sounds like they took the opening of the original song (that yelling bullshit or whatever the fuck it is) and put it in, just to sound authentic I suppose. Next they rip your face off by doing a kick fucking ass version of such a classic. So, do I still hate Marduk? Ok not all that much. But a word to the wise, next time please WAIT FOR THE NEXT FUCKING LP YOU RECORD.
