Poland’s Neuropathia return with a new effort on the emerging Life Stage Productions label. Jumping right into this follow up to the Satan Is a Cunt release on No Escape Records, this ferocious record immediately pleases with an ear-grabbing, chest-bursting and dirty-as-a-torched-corpse-floating-in-a-vat-of-manure rock and roll intro, Neuropathia switch gears and quickly go for the throat. Fans of contemporary goregrind and grindcore will want to take note of this release, but this is far from a bludgeoning all out gore assault here.
There is an underlying enthusiasm for latter-day Entombed here in a lot of the guitar work. These churning, grinding riffs are very groove based that often almost break out into catchy choruses. Also, featuring not one, but two Turbonegro covers, "City of Satan" and a jacked-up version of "Denim Demon", this one being run through a meat grinder, beaten with a meat tenderizer and crudely reassembled.
For me, I think the shrieking vocals needn’t be so buried in the mix. The band is close to finding the perfect sound, but for me the real treat is the live show. If you are at all interested in the aural beating contained within this or any of the bands’ other releases, I highly recommend catching these guys live show if possible. Any questions’ about their ability to choke slam you into submission will indeed be very quickly answered. Until then, grab yourself a bottle of good bathtub brewed Polish vodka and get crazy.
