Neurosis “Sovereign”

Neurosis
Sovereign

Genre:Progressive Sludge Post-HardcoreFormat:mCDTracks:4
Label:Neurot RecordingsYear:2001

Relapse recording artists Neurosis have joined together once again on their own independent label to release an appetizer for their new release A Sun That Never Sets. On this album they stick to the formula that has worked so well for them over the past few years; an apocalyptic storm of thunderous bass driven music not able to be categorized as either metal, hardcore, or anything else for that matter. This is Neurosis. A complete entity in their own, amongst a music scene where it is so hard to find a group who can create their own style. It’s quite unfair to let me even review this album due to the fact that no matter what Neurosis releases, I will always enjoy it. Sovereign is once again another dead-on release for this band. The same sound you have come to expect from this band as well as some great visuals to watch that are accessible on CD-Rom. If you know Neurosis, you more than likely own this. If you don’t, it’s a great way to introduce yourself to this band. I highly recommend this masterpiece for those who are prepared for this war on ears.
