OH GOD I’M SO CONFUSED SOMEONE HOLD ME!!!!!!!!!!
I’m so very, very scared right now. Dear God, what is this strange beast that has been unleashed upon me? I think I just shat myself in fear. OH GOD WHAT’S THAT NOISE???
I realize I sound like a whimpering fool, but this is for good reason. ± marks the debut release from Japanese instrumental death/grinders Noism, who play what can only be described as “Genghis Tron as brutally, anally violated by a technical version of Last Days of Humanity.” The music is essentially a-
OH HOLY TITTY FUCKING CHRIST THERE IT GOES AGAIN!!! SAVE ME!!!!!
-Uh… Err… back to what I was saying, the music is essentially created by taking instrumental technical death/grind riffs, and combining them with programmed cybergrind drum beats that have been spliced and randomly rearranged. The end result is a chaotic mass of sheer mathematical brutality that is startlingly inten-
DUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
…startlingly intense and totally unforgiving in its inhuman rampage. Before I’ve made the claim that brutality for brutality’s sake can’t be fulfilling without good songwriting to bring substance to the table. I’ve now been proven wrong. HOLY FUCK THIS IS AWESOME. Obviously there is a measure of song writing involved with the riffs, but the intensity comes from the combination of the riffs with the randomly programmed drum machine. But the funny thing is: it works. Holy fuck, IT WORKS.
Granted, if this was much longer, I’d probably kill myself, but at a little over 20 minutes? Fuck me, yes, more please. OH GOD. The first time I listened to this, I didn’t jump behind my couch like I normally do; I ran to the police station in another county asking for protection. Holy fuck, what is this monstrosity and who do I have to fuck to get more of it?
Obviously Noism‘s ± is not for everyone, but if you like some experi-

My head was vaccuumed into my torso like a turtle when I first heard this. Fucking incredible.
I’m getting this ASAP. What I heard on their MySpace made me hungry for more. This will look nice next to the new Gigantic Brain album on my shelf.
HA HA HA! This review is funny as hell.
I’m so psyched this band is back after all those years, thought the project was dead!
Check their 2001 release “Brutal Autonomy”, pure genius. cheers.
This shit sounds like a huge fart
I found this pretty unlistenable. No semblance of structure or coherency – but I guess thats the point. I got shit-bored after a few songs.
sounds like a waste of time, rearranged drum parts in no order? I desire some cohesiveness with music, I want structure, not noise. Then it becomes shit. This album stinks of it.
i saw the future of music when i was a kid… and this was it.
not sure how i feel about that
