What an incredibly boring album. Dark riffs, good sound, solid playing, but god fucking damn is this boring. It’s not so much that the riffs are taken from every single death metal album ever recorded, it’s more the drums that really fucking ruin this. Following the intro, "Stiffness" starts off with a decent, dark melody and simple double bass, moving the song along very nicely, and suddenly they start blasting… not even real blasting, either, but that pseudo-hit the snare kinda fast like you just started playing drums-blasting… next thing I know the album’s over and the silence has woken me up. What the hell? So I tried listening again a month or so later… <zzzzzzz>. One day Leif or someone asked me, "Hey, is that Pandemia any good?" "What? Oh… yeah, well the first song has this cool riff… but it’s pretty boring overall." That’s all I could remember. Everything on this album has been written and recorded before, but faster and better. This isn’t bad music, just really, really boring. Boring? Oh yeah, I said that already! Pandemia are boring. Very boring. In fact, I think it’s taken me a few months to review because this cycle may have thrown me into hibernation. Yeah. Seriously though, the good production makes it listenable, but JESUS FUCKING CHRIST- IF YOU HAD SOME DECENT DRUMS THIS MIGHT HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN PRETTY FUCKING COOL. INSTEAD, YOU CHEESE OFF ON ONE LAST ELEMENT, JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER ASSHOLE BAND TODAY. FUCK. You people don’t want to go the whole nine yards, you’re ok up to a point and you stop right fucking there, so long as you sound just like your favorite bands. Pandemia can do much better.
