Prostitute Disfigurement, now that’s a name! This is certainly the kind of death metal name I want to hear on my bands. It somewhat reminds me of that old Lucio Fulci film The New York Ripper where a killer calls up the protagonist detective and slices up the hooker the detective was fucking on the side while he’s on the phone, quacking away like he’s Donald Duck. What a fucking awesome movie that was.

Though entirely unrelated, Prostitute Disfigurement is your average brutal death metal act out of the Netherlands. You got the blasting drums, pig-ish squealing guttural vocals, and decently technical guitar work on the side. Aside from some guest vocals from Disavowed’s Robbe and Pyaemia’s Joey, it’s predictable, brutal death metal along the lines of what you would expect out of the European scene. But man, is it entertaining. I found my head bobbing along the whole time, getting into the high pitched solos and the shredding guitars.

Two complaints though: until "In Death’s Decay" all the songs have a habit of blending together and the guttural pig vocals lack variation at the beginning of the album. The first problem isn’t too big of a complaint as the album clocks just under 30 minutes and the songs have some great catchy riffs and decent solos in there to make one ignore the blending, but sweet Christ those pig vocals are annoying towards the beginning. I realize the point of the insanely low pig vocals is to come across as brutal and destructive as possible, but it shouldn’t come across like he’s saying the same word over and over. Bands like Negligent Collateral Collapse are unintelligible as all fuck, but their vocals still sound like different grunts from one another. Up until "Bluedrum Torso" and a few other choice songs, the low guttural vocals sound like their just repeating the same single word. Luckily, the guest vocals and the more coherent non-guttural vocals contrast it enough to save it and it varies itself up more after "Bluedrum Torso".

Prostitute Disfigurement is definitely a band to check out. Pretty decent brutal death metal, and a fucking kickass name to boot. Seriously, how can you not love that name?
