For anyone who read my review of the Pustulated/Copremesis split, you already know what to expect when you hear the name Pustulated. If you haven’t, then the best way to describe the band would be; endless mindless brutality. The music is fast, furious and fucked up. The drumming of ex-Brodequin/Besieged/Enter Self drummer Chad Walls is completely unreal as he puts every other drummer in the genre to shame. From his blasts to his fills to everything in between and beyond, Chad is just a whirlwind of kicks and flailing fists, from top speed to slower tempos, he does nothing but impress with his tight style. The vocals are just hilariously unreal, with a burping style that sounds like wind is entering the esophagus through the rectum. The riffing is actually rather unusual for such brutal accompaniment, as the band strays from the norms for gore splattered death metal, playing a variety of styles in a very brief span, from black metalish rhythms to moshy brutal death to tech, but with so much going on around it, it’s often difficult to pick up the guitar tones. The band is somewhat similar in style to bands like Retch and Brodequin, but the song structure is much better. This is the perfect CD to listen to if you’re looking for completely mindless brutality, especially if you’re a big drumming nut. Listening to this will bash your brain into mush, chew on it a bit, shit it out and make you eat it. Of all of the brutal death metal releases I’ve come across, Inherited Cryptorchidism is definitely one of the most entertaining and absolutely worth the money. Yea, it’s stupid, yea it’s total nonsense, and that’s what makes it worth listening to again and again. If you’ll excuse me, I need to go crank this and roll around naked in my own filth. BURP-BURP-BURPITY-BURRRRP!!!!
