Generally when I order albums I’ve heard the bands and am a fan of their material, very rarely do I simply pick something up just because it sounds like it could be interesting. A few weeks ago I went against the norm and picked up a random collection of CDs that seemed like they could be good without having heard the material first. Among the CDs I picked up was Belarusian goregrinders Stickoxydal’s debut full length offering The Perverted Position of Interiors on Bizarre Leprous Productions. I figured there was a good chance I’d like it considering I’m a big fan of a lot of Bizarre Leprous’ releases and after just one listen I’m glad I made my random purchase!

Stickoxydal play high tempo lo-fi goregrind in the vein of Gut, Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition and Utopie and their debut full length is a non-stop assault of distorted grinding riffs, drumkit smashing blasts and a dual vocal assault that features deep guttural gurgles and raspy snarls. The tracks are short, with 14 tracks in 23 minutes, but pack a lot of punch with simple catchy riffs, relentless blasts and an atmosphere that makes me want to dropkick a hobo and shit on their chest while jacking off. In other words; this is raw, dirty and fun goregrind!

Considering their style you’d swear this was another Czech Republic-based goregrind acts as there are many obvious similarities between The Perverted Position of Interiors and releases by early Alienation Mental, Ahumado Granujo and Destructive Explosion Of Anal Garland. This is definitely an album to pick up if you’re into goregrind that’s fast, sloppy and fun! I haven’t had gotten this pumped up listening to lo-fi goregrind in a while and these guys are definitely worth checking out! They also have a new full length effort out, which I’m going to be buying immediately!
