A lot of people may be looking at this review and thinking "What the fuck? I think Teufel has finally lost it. He’s now stooped to the level of reviewing music made by animated internet cartoon characters." That may very well be true, and you may not like it, but I’m doing it anyway. You see, I like to consider myself to be the inspiration behind Strong Bad, and before you start freaking out, hear me out. Strong Bad replies to e-mails sent to him once a week, with some witty and funny consequences. I once used to reply to hate mails sent to me, and made the responses funny. Strong Bad is short. I’m short too. Strong Bad wears a wrestling mask. I love wrestling. Strong Bad replies to e-mails wearing boxing gloves on his hands. I often get so frustrated reviewing CDs that all I do is bash my forehead against the keyboard and somehow words come out and they make sense… sometimes. Strong Bad has Strong Mad. I like to yell and I’m often told when I speak I’m rather incoherent. Strong Bad has The Cheat. I have… umm… hmm… you got me there. Well, maybe I’m not the inspiration behind Strong Bad, but I am a big fan of his, so when I found out he’d released an album, I knew I had to run out and get a copy… for my dad… for Christmas… then burn a copy for myself. Well… I guess technically that is "cheating", so there, I have my cheat! Anyway… the album itself starts out with the theme song for the almighty "TROGDOR", a mythical man with huge arms, I mean, he’s a dragon-man, well, maybe he’s just a dragon, but he’s still "TROGDOR"! The track is a rockin’ NWOSBHM (New Wave Of Strong Badian Heavy Metal) tune with dueling guitar solos of squiggly versus wiggly, and, well, squiggly wins! Following this epic song is the hilariously addictive techno/acupella "The System Is Down". I don’t think there’s a human being alive who can listen to this song only once without shrieking "DOO-DOO-DIDDLE-DOO-DOO-DIDDLE-DOO-DOO!" at random hours later. Next up is the "Strongbadia National Anthem" featuring Mrs. Partsmatters 1st Grade Class with Mr. Cheaterson on the piano. Listening to it just once makes me want to blow my nose on the flag and drape myself in a Strongbadia flag and fly to… wherever it is. Following this is Marzipan‘s punk-folk "Oh Yea Yea", which makes me really really really really yea. After this is a track by Limozeen, the oft-mentioned 80s hair band in the Strong Bad shorts. Up next is the heartfelt "Circles" featuring The Kinda Long Haired Band unplugged with Strong Bad digging deep into his soul breaking out some touching lyrics. It brings a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye. I just feel I can identify so much with what he’s saying to me. *sniffles and clears throat* From there he Barry White‘s it up with "Let’s Get Started On Doing All Of Those Awesome Things I Suggested", before you’re quickly sonically crippled by Taranchula‘s "Moving Very Slowly", whose singer sounds strangely similar to Bubs, but I’m sure this is just a weird coincidence. After that is the "Sweet Cuppin Cakes Theme Song", which just makes me want to eat cupcakes and play with My Little Pony, for some reason. What’s Her Face then pops up with some early 90s-styled dance music, almost reminiscent of Dee-Lite, only not even remotely close. Stunning, really. Strong Bad then tugs at the heartstrings once again with his hair metal "It’s Like It’s Meant To Be…" seriously, I can’t listen to this without choking up… give me a minute… whew… onto Limozeen telling me all about the "Nite Mamas", you preach it, brother! *breaks out the lighter and waves it back and forth in the air* From there Marzipan tells us all about how she’s "Sensitive To Bees", in which Strong Bad interrupts and joins her in a powerful duet that just makes me want to say I don’t care what they say, I really really like trees. After that, Strong Bad Disney’s things up by informing people that "You’ve Got An Ugly And Stupid Butt". So true, brother, preach on! Coach Z then comes in and kicks it old school with "These Peoples Try To Fade Me", I find peoples are always trying to fade me; this is really a song for the soul, Holmes. After that I can’t help but feel I need to tell myself that "The Ladies In My Town All Know My Name", it’s not true, but… wait, yes it is, I’m freakin’ awesome! So awesome, that I gotta slip into some bellbottoms and karate kick my way around the house to "The Theme From Dangeresque 2: This Time It’s Not Dangeresque 1", and remind myself that "Somebody Told Me (Now I Believe Them)" that "The Cheat Is Not Dead", because I’m so glad The Cheat is not dead! So glad that I need to take "Everybody To The Limit"… Live no less. All I can tell you is I’m not going to play those games. Mind games. Board games. And… what the hell… it seems as though I unknowingly stripped off my shirt while listening to this album and… holy crap! I’m wearing boxing gloves… man, how am I able to type with these things on? And… wait… hold on, let me grab a mirror… I… I’m wearing a luchadore mask, what the hell… I mean… well… wait… wow… I never realized how awesome I am until now. If you’ll excuse me I need to go check out my pecs and my delts and my… no, I need to go show these to the ladies, uhhh… you guys go ahead without me.
