I’m not making this up. This album is seriously called Moribund Transgoria, but it actually doesn’t suck as much as I expected after suffering from that last piece of shit Deathraider mCD. "Deathspawn Of The Eibound" starts the album off with melodic, thrashy riffs ruined by weak vocals. If Swordmaster would get a brain and find a real vocalist who could sing to match their riffs, they’d have a good thrash album. It always amazes me how so many bands convince themselves that last "weak" element is "perfect for our style" (of course, I succumb to certain bands like this as well). Closing track "The Grotesque Extravaganza" (once again I’m not making this up, check the web site for yourself) finally uses some clean vocals - not very good ones but a drastic improvement - and actually sounds like decent metal for a minute. However, one listen to this album was enough to write this review and stick by it as this is as good as it gets. The music is really not bad, there’s some strong thrash riffs along the likes of Postmortem Tales on "The Angels" and the "Masters And Sulfur Skelethrones", but these pointless, effortless, boring vocals ruin hope for appreciating any good riffs these guys can write. Plus, the album is called Moribund Transgoria for fuck’s sake. Maybe if this came out in the 70’s and had something to do with the Rocky Horror Picture Show, it would be justifiably cool. Or perhaps if it surfaced in the 80’s and had some weird horror-punk or death-rock thing going on with some glamorous stage show, it would have been midly entertaining if not bluntly hilarious. Maybe even an avant-garde musical by some pseudo-hip modern composer could have garnered some merits to the title, or something. I guess what I’m trying to say is if this album had nothing to do with Swordmaster, it could perhaps make someone see past the title since their music can’t.
