I’m not sure how a cover featuring a beheaded corpse getting porked by an Asian makes it past the censors but I’m glad it did. Finland’s Torsofuck gets things started with an updated version of Catasexual Urge Motivation’s electronic fueled savagery. CUM used the drum machine as an advantage - not a limitation in creating extremely cold and disturbing grind. The same precise and mechanical force drives the rhythm section creating a powerful and menacing atmosphere. A singular non-shifted gurgle is all the vocals needed to accent the dark grinding riffs that range from hyper blasting freak-outs to methodical churning breakdowns with good balance. Their 4 tracks go by fast but hit hard and offer enough memorable riffs to keep you interested. The band retains a nice project feel despite the solid production. A nice and meaty guitar tone drives a punishing mix. Torsofuck are not rewriting the rules of goregrind but they are solid and will appeal to fans of the heaviest and sickest of grind styles. Like country-mates Morbid Savouring - the lyrics are over-the-top misogynistic hatred of the most savage variety.

Brazil’s Lymphatic Phlegm has gained a great reputation over the years for creative and consistent creepy electronic gore grind. The sound has matured for LP over the years and the warm analog tone of the guitars (always slightly accented with reverb) is a welcome departure from the lined-in mechanical sound of earlier releases. LP seems to have and endless supply of quality riffs as release after release of pathological gore grind manages to keep my interest where other bands grow old fast. Like their split-mates - Lymphatic Phlegm features killer project level production. As the catalog of Lymphatic releases continues to grow you can only hope that more people start paying attention to this Brazilian duo that continues to deliver your money’s worth.
