I was interested in checking this band out for awhile, seeing as they’re from Chicago and I’m only a few hours south. Maybe some home state pride you know? There isn’t much to appreciate from this state besides what comes out of Chicago. The rest of Illinois is basically cornfields, meth labs, rednecks and, well, not much else. This state is where if you’re dying you’d think, "Fuck man, I’m spending my final seconds in Illinois and I’m not even in Chicago." Let’s cut straight through the bullshit. This album fucking sucks. I was laughing hysterically after the first song and it only got worse after that. Gang vocals are gay. Gang vocals are even gayer when you’re shouting "Metal Lust." I try to not take metal too seriously, especially lyrics, but goddamn everything involved with the vocalist is cheesy. Maybe this is a bad place to start for an introduction to Usurper but I don’t want to hear anything else by them after experiencing this digitally pressed to plastic diarrhea. I wonder if I can fling this disc and hit that fat kid riding his bike outside my window. Written By: GruntCunter
