Guess what? Vader have released yet another mCD! It seems like every other weekend there’s news that Vader have just released a new mCD, the difference is, this time around the album isn’t 75% cover songs, this time around they’ve *only* done one cover song. I guess after a while they just ran out of things to cover. This time around they’ve scraped the bottom of the barrel and are covering a Thin Lizzy tune. Ouch! I’m seriously doubting the guys in Vader have any hobbies. It seems like all they ever do is tour and record, the only problem is, they never seem to take the time to actually write music, since every song of theirs seems to sound the same, year after year, album after agonizing album. What’s new with Blood? Well, not much, really. For the most part they’ve stuck to the same formula they’ve employed for the past 15 years; blast, chugga-chugga, wanky solo, constipated growl, and repeat. However, for the first time in… years, they’ve actually recorded a song that caught my attention and was worth listening to more than once. "We Wait" is a mid-paced death metal tune, with no wanky solos, good solid vocal delivery, nothing sounds rushed, nothing sounds forced, and everything just falls into place, which is totally out of character for the kings of chaos. The Thin Lizzy cover sounds about how you’d expect, of course if you’re expecting it to sound good, let me teabag that thought out of your skull now, you see, you can dip a turd in chocolate and call it an Oh Henry, but one bite and you’ll quickly realize… that ain’t no candy. Actually, now that I think of it, you should be able to tell by the smell alone, cos I don’t care how much chocolate you cover a turd in, it’s still gonna smell like a turd. Of course there are fecalpheliacs out there who’ll gladly have someone to drop the Cosby kids off in their drool pool, those same people will probably like the remainder of this Vader disc and completely hate "We Wait". If that’s the case, I suggest changing your last name to Sanchez and changing your nickname to Dirty. These jokes just write themselves!
