Straight ahead, if not too well produced sounding grindcore from Gronibard members make for a solid slab of grind. Nothing overly original or earth-shattering here, just straight grindcore with top rate production from experienced grinders. I prefer the retardedly silly Gronibard to this type of direct grind but fans of the classics like Napalm Death and Terrorizer should dig this. Raging straight-forward grind driven by a solid blasting assault of perfectly mixed drums and a huge bass tone should please fans of old school crossover and pure grindcore alike. This is an EP release and the 8 short songs fly past in a hurry. Although they seem bent on speedy riffs and breakneck changes the strength is in the groove. These guys write great riffs and in the rare moments when they slow it down and drop into churning groove, they just destroy. Track 5, "Already One Foot in The Grave", is the perfect example of how to play a chundering visceral groove. From Frankensperm to Warscars I have been impressed with each release. Bones Brigade is known for solid releases that don’t grow tiring with repeat listens and Warscars continues this tradition. The French have a great scene that features Gronibard, Inhumate, SCD and up and coming stuff like Elysium and Warscars, pay attention and you’ll be rewarded with some killer grind. A great value for your $5.
