Holy fuck! What the hell was that? It sounded like a swarm of angry pigeons had a violent beak fight in front of a microphone while some crazy group of nut bags shredded away on their guitars and smashed the fuck out of their drum kit for half an hour!

Boston’s Watchmaker are equal parts 80s thrash and 90s grindcore playing a unique brand of music that can only be labelled as thrashgrind and not in the manner of Ghoul or Impaled, think more along the lines of Slayer fused with Assück being violently jabbed in the testicles with a cattle prod to make them insane with rage, hatred and cruel pain. Their latest full length offering, Erased From The Memory Of Man, is like running through a huge room filled with zombies tearing apart their living victims with the use of musical instruments and listening to their terrified shrieks of pain as they’re torn limb from limb! I mean that in a good way.

The sad thing is I’ve had Watchmaker’s Willowtip debut Kill.Fucking.Everyone. sitting unopened and unlistened on a pile on my desk since 2003. What the fuck is wrong with me? This is seriously the single craziest shit I’ve heard in a long time and I feel like a complete douche for having not given this band a listen sooner.

Erased From The Memory Of Man is an overwhelming release with the endless shrieking, blasting and riffing, and while I’m a person who generally fucking hates blasting shrieking grind, this material is just so unbelievably intense and crazy it’s infectious. If you don’t own this album you need to run out and get this album right away… actually, fuck running, strap rockets to a skateboard and haul ass down to the nearest retailer that carries this album and buy it. Your panicked screams as you try to figure out how to stop your rocketboard can only be surpassed by the intensity of this album. RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
